Time & Location

About the event
An exciting new opportunity - a low-cost accessible way to learn Life Coaching skills, for your own development or to begin using with other people. You will be working in a group that runs from Mon 13 March to Mon 26 June. Each session is two hours, 7pm to 9pm.
Who is it for? You, if you are ready to make changes in your life, and want to learn how to enable and support change in others.
What do I need? Curiosity and openness. A pleasure in learning and sharing. Something to develop or change in your life. A reliable internet connection and to be comfortable working online.
What’s the Benefit? New transferable skills, connections with like-minded people, an experience of coaching that will open up many further opportunities.
How does it work? The group runs over four months. There’s a two-hour online session once a fortnight, with homework in between, and an ongoing personal project.
Each Session Includes:
- Teaching – of easy-to-use tools & techniques to begin your coaching journey, and to help you understand and develop the skills of a life coach.
- Connection – create contacts and build a supportive new network with your peers as you learn and explore.
- Practice Sessions – the very best way to learn is to work with real people on real issues.
- Personal Project – choose something you want to achieve over the 4 months, then see how fast you can progress with the help of a committed group.
- Developing Skills – you will learn a lot about how to work effectively with yourself and others.
- Experienced Coaches – will be on the sessions to share their knowledge and insights, and give valuable feedback on your strengths and learning edges.
Why Learn with BWIS?
We understand that people face pressures and are cautious about how to invest in their future. We are making it as easy as possible for people to join in by delivering the training at low cost and online.
Doing a full coach training course will cost you hundreds of pounds (or with a big-name company, thousands). This is a unique opportunity to learn with a smaller company with a terrific track record of teaching effective safe coaching. Also, many online or distance learning courses do not include any person-to-person interaction.
We emphasise the personal connections people make in our groups, the friendly support, and the experiential learning in the way we teach. People come to us after doing other courses just to get that essential personal experience - because how can you learn to coach without practising?
What Will it Cost Me?
The one-hour Taster session is free of charge. To secure your place on the course for eight full sessions, it’s a single payment of £120 (can be two installments if necessary). And if you sign up by Thurs 2nd March, an Earlybird discount of 10% reduces your investment to just £108.
This is remarkable value for something that can change your life and kick-start a new career. The knowledge and connections you acquire over these few months is likely to repay your investment many times over. The training will only be offered at this price once.
What’s more, Earlybirds get a free copy of Steve’s book “How to Get Your Ducks in a Row”, full of great ideas and including a step-by-step method for coaching yourself to success.
Who Are BWIS?
Being Well In Suffolk (BWIS) is a Community Interest Company specialising in wellbeing and good mental health. We are professional coaches, therapists, trainers, and facilitators.
BWIS has successfully taught Life Coaching Skills for many years, beginning in 2006 as Suffolk Coaching Zone, and continuing with courses for beginners and advanced learners. Many of our graduates go on to use their skills in their employed roles, to add to a private practice, or to create a business as a professional coach.
The sessions will be led by Steve Roche, who has been coaching professionally for more than twenty years and has run numerous groups and courses. He is an NLP Master Practitioner and a Certified NLP Coach, with a background in therapy and training, and extensive experience of helping people to address their issues, achieve their goals, and transform their lives.
Steve is supported by experienced coach and trainer Yvonne Coolbear. Other colleagues will join us to take part in the practice sessions and give you the benefit of their varied experience. There is more information about BWIS on this site.
What is Life Coaching?
A partnership where the coach supports and guides the client to reach their outcomes and make the changes they want. Coaching differs from therapy or counselling in that it is forward-looking, led by the client, and focuses on exploration and what can be achieved.
Will I be able to earn a living as a Life Coach?
This training is an introduction to coaching, covering all the basics. If you enjoy it and have the aptitude, there are opportunties to continue your journey and further develop your coaching to a professional standard.
Why do you include a Personal Project?
Having a meaningful project means you get to achieve something that’s of value to you, at the same time as learning and enjoying the company of other similarly motivated people. As you succeed at achieving your own goals your skills will rapidly develop, your confidence will increase, and your personal growth will accelerate.
Why do you include Feedback?
We know how valuable it is to be able to practice and get immediate constructive feedback on what you do well. People often tell us it’s something that is missing from other courses.
Have we answered your questions? If not, come to the Taster session on Mon Feb 27th.
To book your place NOW at the Earlybird price, transfer £108 to Being Well In Suffolk C.I.C. at Santander, sort code 09-01-28, account 67891505, with your name as reference. And email firstname.lastname@example.org.
